Hannah Dickson (she/they) is a Queer woman living and working in tkaronto/toronto.
She has a BA in Art History and Gender Studies from Carleton University and an MA in Contemporary Art, Design, and New Media Art Histories from OCAD University. During her time at OCAD, her research focused on the queerness of contemporary burlesque and the concept of the feminist gaze.
Hannah is currently researching contemporary high-femme identities and femme futurism, as well as methodologies for displaying archival material without reproducing and contributing to problematic narratives and instead drawing attention to marginalized voices and stories.
She is the chair of the curatorial committee at The ArQuives, Canada's LGBTQ2+ Archive, and is investigating the ways that archives can use exhibitions and contemporary art to bridge gaps in the collection created by historical inequity.
